Walking through landscape imprints sensory memories, layered and melded over time. We recollect experiences, thoughts and feelings associated with place.
My history has tracks through the South Downs and the wide beaches of the Gower Peninsular.
Poetry captures the immediacy of a moment. It can, in just a few words, convey us to another time and place. In my ceramics I have used my own verse, “Gower Walking” and Owen Sheers’ poem on landscape which begins : "There are places that speak, telling the stories of us and them…"
