Ceramic Art London
8 - 10 April 2022
Central Saint Martins, Kings Cross
During lockdown, I started to use drawing as a way to reassess my ceramic work. I began to look at a wider range of influences and develop ideas in a much more open way and when I was able to return to my studio, I started to experiment and realise some of these ideas.
I’m now using a combination of different stoneware clays and use mono printed underglaze and oxide based colours on the surfaces. These give these pieces a Modernist feel, reminiscent of Brutalist architecture and design – clean, stripped back, simple and complex.
