Lisa Hammond
A soda glaze & shino potter and lecturer for over 40 years. Lisa produces high temperature soda glaze functional ware, in the broadest sense, raw glazing using slip and a pallet of firing schedules gives the work its rich colour and texture. In recent years Lisa has developed a range of work “soda shino” inspired by mino pots of Japan. Lisa uses shino glazes fired alongside the slipware pots in the soda kiln. Her work is represented worldwide in galleries, museums and private collections. Lisa is Founder and Chair of Adopt a Potter charitable trust and Clay College Stoke, and awarded an MBE in 2016.
