Midori Takaki
Midori Takaki makes sculptures based on her life experiences, both real and imaginary; they are often intertwined in her head. Midori pushes and stretches the clay and usually doesn’t know what it will be like until it is complete. When she sees something alive in the clay, Midori tries to connect. Sometimes the spirit is aloof, other times friendly. If she’s in a rush, they will often go away. They must come out in their own time. Her works are made from joy, patience and stoneware clay, fired up to 1240°c.
