David Binns
David Binns’ carved and glazed ceramic forms evolve through an intimate and intuitive engagement with clay, involving both accident and control.
His work draws inspiration from contrasting influences of contemporary architecture and the natural landscape. His practice is shaped by a deep respect of the fundamental principles of Japanese aesthetics; hopefully conveying a sense of asymmetry, quietness, solitude and ambiguity, possibly suggestive of ritual or ceremony, whilst alluding to qualities one might experience in the natural world.
David has participated in numerous UK and international exhibitions, workshops and symposium and his work is featured in many international collections and publications.
David Binns is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association.
