Patricia Shone
Patricia Shone’s work is hand formed by texturing and stretching from solid pieces of clay. Texture, and how a piece feels in the hand is primary; clay as a physical connection with the world, a visceral process trying to reveal the inexpressible. The mineral nature of the material reflects the formation and weathering of land and the passage of humans across the surface. She aims for tension and balance between the container and its contents. Grounded by the controlled forms of functional vessels but liberated from those constraints by broken, textured surfaces.
Patricia Shone is a Selected Member of the Craft Potters Association.
