Midori Takaki
Midori sees herself as a story teller. Her sculptures are twined and woven with stories. Recently she has worked on the Silk Road, the great trade routes in the ancient world; history is, to her, a collection of stories told by winners. She has focused on how small incidents on the routes had changed the world and we are still benefitting from them.
She creates original hand built work. She begins with a thorough research on each subject, for commission or otherwise. Her strength is attention to detail. Works are made with multiple firings up to 1240C.
Midori Takaki is a Selected Member of the Craft Potters Association.
