Tricia Thom
Tricia’s work takes references from her love of an eastern aesthetic. Teapots and moon jars speak to her as symbols of community and ritual. She enjoys the sensory experience that porcelain offers on the wheel. Taking inspiration from the meditative nature of the process itself, she is concerned with creating balanced, graceful forms. Some surfaces are treated with bold, loose gestural brush strokes which contrast with the conformity of shape. She enjoys the interplay created between a form with contrasting glaze surfaces, playing with juxtaposing groupings.
