Harriet Caslin
Line, repetition, light and tactility have been a source of inspiration for as long as Harriet has been drawn to making. There is something subliminally pleasing to how these aspects speak to something beyond rational thought. This is something Harriet explores in her ceramic practice predominantly using slip cast porcelain from laser-cut models or handmade models. Harriet works in a modular way, joining cast pieces together with continual carved lines to create tensions and fluidity in the work. Her collection includes lighting, semi-functional vessels and sculptural forms that Harriet makes from her studio in Essex.
