James Evans
I enjoy observing. The juxtaposition of objects, people, their physical relationship to one another and discourse. The energy gained from talking to students, friends and peers is one of the most positive aspects of making art. A few words can inform you or spark a thought leading to a new direction or approach. The making of the forms is intuitive and process lead. I like to explore different ways of manipulating the material, in construction, firing and finish. It’s a never ending journey, that is why I work with clay, ignoring its limitations and moments of total frustration, just playing.
