Marie Brunborg

Having dabbled with clay in her early years, Marie Brunborg re-engaged with Ceramics in 2015 alongside practicing Architecture. Marie focuses on wheel thrown forms and random patterning of drawn and textured surfaces. With simple white porcelain vessels, Marie plays with the language of architectural technical drawings, unravelling the line in the spirit of Paul Klee’s ‘taking a line for a walk’. With similarly shaped stoneware vessels, Marie’s exploration of tactile surfaces encourages users to experience form and texture through touch. In making these vessels, Marie’s background in Architecture and Ceramics become inextricably linked through the acts of representing and making.
