Nel Faulkner
Nel Faulkner studied 3D Design at Chelsea School of Art and worked in Paris designing shops and furniture for Valentino and Ines de la Fressange before choosing a career in ceramics in her late twenties. She makes bold, characterful work which distorts and subverts conventional ceramics, looking to trigger memories of other forms and to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. She was selected by Paul Smith to exhibit in his flagship store in Albemarle Street and has shown alongside Grayson Perry with Lyndsey Ingram Gallery. Her pieces have featured at the London Original Print Fair in Somerset House and she created two collections for the New Craftsmen Gallery in Mayfair. Nel has recently been awarded the Artist-In-Residence Grant at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Centre in Denmark.
