My work lies within the tradition of maiolica and celebrates this rich historical medium. It strives for poetic mastery through pictorial representation, achieving a freshness of palette that belies the difficulty of the process. Inspiration is drawn from classical subjects and images observed in churches, museums and galleries as well as experiences and observations made directly from life. I exhibit in the UK and across Europe and my work recently appeared in the New York Times Style Magazine and was featured in TOAST magazine TOAST Portraits. Fellow of the Craft Potters Association and Brother of the Art Workers’ Guild.
