Chris Bramble
London-born ceramic artist Chris Bramble creates contemporary works that blend African heritage with European influences, refined over 40 years since founding his studio in 1988.
A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art with a master’s from Westminster University, Bramble was influenced by a transformative period in 1980s Zimbabwe, where training in traditional stone carving shaped his distinctive approach to clay.
His ceramic sculptures are rooted in life, rhythm and dance, capturing the spirit of contemporary Black culture through organic forms and modern techniques.
International museums, galleries and publications feature Bramble’s work, while his London studio nurtures emerging ceramic artists.
Chris Bramble is a Selected Member of the Craft Potters Association.
