Lisa Hammond
A soda glaze & shino potter and lecturer for over 40 years. Producing high temperature soda glaze functional ware, in the broadest sense ,raw glazing using slip and a pallet of firing schedules gives the work its rich colour and texture. In recent years i have developed a range of work “soda shino” inspired by mino pots of Japan. I use shino glazes fired alongside the slipware pots in the soda kiln.
My work is represented in many galleries, museums and private collections worldwide. Founder and Chair of Adopt A Potter charitable trust and Clay College Stoke. Awarded MBE, 2016.
