Miho Inagaki
CREATURE is one of her life-work. Since beginning to make pottery, Miho has seen the resemblance of creatures in the clay on the potter’s wheel. She adds inspiration on the primitive clay, reimagining it as a creature. Or she sees the objects that have been distorted in the kiln as creatures. Like the play of metaphor in the Japanese tea ceremony, she gives new value and meaning to them without being bound by preconceived notions. This is where a range of sensibility emerges that is different from the objects that are made with a purpose.
