Omer Oner

I am inspired by found objects and their potential in forming new bodies of work. I employ mould-making and slip-casting practices to replicate and multiply the discarded objects. These are individual things or fragments of big objects. I see them not as trash but as sources of opportunity and inspiration.

By repurposing and regenerating them into ceramic vessels, I recreated their function and material quality. They started a new journey on a hybrid object.

As a maker, I find the material transition process fascinating, inserting my practice into a historical tradition of using clay as an imitative and reproduction material.
