Patricia Shone
Patricia Shone’s work is hand formed by texturing and stretching from solid lumps of clay. The controlled forms of functional vessels are liberated from those constraints by broken, textured surfaces. How a piece feels in the hand is important; it’s clay as a physical connection with the world, a visceral process trying to reveal the inexpressible. The mineral nature of the material reflects the formation and weathering of land and the passage of humans across the surface. She aims for tension and balance between the container and its contents.
Patricia Shone is a Selected Member of the Craft Potters Association.
