Sophie Manessiez has developed a unique body of work around porcelain weaving, an approach she has herself created and refined. Her wall pieces push the boundaries of the medium by transforming porcelain, traditionally perceived as rigid, into a supple and fluid structure. Each weaving gradually reveals its details and interconnections depending on the viewing distance and angle, offering an immersive and layered experience. This singular artistic language establishes a dialogue between tradition and innovation, material and viewer, while asserting a decidedly contemporary approach that expands the field of ceramics and redefines the possibilities of this timeless medium.
