Timothy Copsey
Described as beautifully ugly – Timothy Copsey’s work is playful, surprising and resonant of their materiality and the landscape from which they derive. The Peak District is a lively place of motion, flux, texture and luster, providing both inspiration and material. Gold and silver are responses to rushing waterfalls and the dark reflections of peat pools. His process is an interaction with material, adaptations in clay; pushing pieces to the limits of stability, investigating glaze and kiln in a push and pull between control and fluid transformation. Resulting in pieces which are mercurial: shifting with the light, conversing with their environment.
Timothy Copsey is a Selected Member of the Craft Potters Association.
